August 31, 1946 ~ February 25, 2023 (age 76)
Donald Edward Hardy 76, Of South Bend, IN passed away on February 25, 2023 after an illness. He was born to the union of Daniel and Mamie Hardy on August 31,1946 in South Bend, IN. He attended Oliver, Colfax and Central High School where he participated in football. Donald was Baptized and received his spiritual guidance at Pilgrim Baptist under the Rev. Rowlett.
Mr. Hardy enjoyed spending time with family and friends, he was a faithful member of the Elks where he enjoyed listening to the OJ’s and the Manhattans. Donald was not afraid of work he often worked many jobs at various companies: A transportation company in Arizona, Bendix Corporation, SBCSB, Notre Dame and St. Joseph County Sheriff’s office.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory Four Sons: Terrance (Regina) Hardy, Timothy (L’wanda) Hardy, Clinton (Tinna) Hardy and Shelton Hardy. His first wife Gloria Hardy. Siblings Daniel (Pam) Hardy Jr. Special Great Aunt Doris Floyd, ten grandchildren and counting. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Mike Hardy and Grandparents: Betty and Calvin Gunn.
Dad was the type that didn’t want a lot of fuss made about him, but he loved a good party with music, friends and especially family. A Celebration of Life Dinner will take place at MR Falcon 3212 Keller St. South Bend, on Monday March 6, 2023 at 4PM. Arrangements entrusted to www.boydandsonfuneralhome.com
