MARGARET WORKS

SOUTH BEND - Margaret Works, 65, formerly of South Grant Street, South Bend, IN, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8th, at Golden Living Nursing Home. Margaret was born to the union of Albert and Cyntheria (Taylor) Works in South Bend, Indiana, on January 14, 1947.
She graduated from South Bend Central High School.
Margaret relocated to Brooklyn, New York, where she lived for 20 years, and in 1983 returned to South Bend. She was employed by Hedwin, Inc., for six years and Adapto Inc. for 13 years as a supervisor. Her hobbies included spending time with her grandchildren, cookouts, QVC shopping, playing spades and casino gambling.
Ms. Works is survived by two sons, Benjamin Jamel Hicks III of Indianapolis, IN, and Jayson Jermaine Hicks, South Bend, Indiana; grandchildren, Tameka Ellis Hicks, Brizhane' Hicks, Benjamin Hicks IV, Ziare` Hicks, Taylor Hicks, Brittain Hicks, Myomi Hicks, Jayon Hicks, Imani Hicks, Jameel Perry Hicks and Eddie Perry Hicks; sisters, Pricilla - Works (Melvin) Outlaw, Thelma (John) Smith and Barbara Williams, all of South Bend, IN, Burnadette (Richard) Thomas of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Shirley Paige of San Jose, TX; a brother, Christopher Taylor of South Bend; along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Cyntheria Works; and by a brother, Herbert Works.
Funeral services for Ms. Works will be held at 12 noon Friday, December 14, 2012, at Pentecostal Cathedral, where friends may call one hour prior to the services.
