JAMES "JIMMY JAM" WILLIAMS

April 17, 1949 - April 20, 2009
SOUTH BEND - James "Jimmy Jam" Williams Jr., 60, a resident of Auten Road, South Bend, Indiana; beloved son, brother, uncle, father and grandfather, departed this life at 5:30 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2009, in his home surrounded by his family. James was born on April 17, 1949, to the union of the late James "Slim" Williams Sr. and Willie Mae (Ferrell) Williams.

He attended public schools in the S.B.C.S.C., graduating from Central High School in 1967.

James was employed by Allied Stamping for many years until his health started to fail. James loved shooting pool and played on the Michiana pool league for many years, winning several tournaments that he received trophies for. He also liked to play darts, and played on the Marroni's dart league, also winning numerous trophies and competitions. Jimmy especially loved playing cricket with darts and was very good at that game.

James is survived by his loving mother, Mrs. Willie Mae Williams of South Bend; two daughters, Alexis I. Williams and Annette (Kenneth) Taylor, both of South Bend; five sons, Damon Williams Sr., of Decatur, IL, Anthony Lawrence, James, Jamier and Jermaine Williams, all of South Bend, In; four sisters, Deborah (L.T.) Hunt, Linda (Larry) Gordon, Dottie Williams and Sharon (Thomas) Johnson, all of South Bend, Indiana; two brothers, Dennis (Gayle) Williams of South Holland, Illinois, and Ronnie (Robin) Williams of South Bend, In; seven grandchildren, Devontae Williams, Devon Jefferies, both of South Bend, In, Damon Jr., Arias, Tiffani Williams, De'Andre of Decatur, Illinois, and Jameson Lawrence of South Bend, In.; two dear friends and former companions, Pearlie Lawrence and Ruby Brown, both of South Bend, In, and a lifelong friend, Alfred Levy of South Bend, In; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Williams will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 25th, in Pentecostal Cathedral Church of God In Christ, with burial following at Riverview Cemetery. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the church.
