Betty Lou (Rock) Wigginton

SOUTH BEND - Betty L. Wigginton, 84, of South Bend, died Sunday, November 29, 2015, at Healthwin Specialized Care. Betty was born November 22, 1931, in Michigan, to the late Elva (Anderson) and Fred Rock. On March 16, 1985 she married Milton L. Wigginton who preceded her in death in 2001. She was also preceded in death by her sons, David and Daniel Giles; and siblings, Alvena Ward, and Gene, Chuckie, Bud, Fred and Paul Rock. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Sherry Longacre of Elkhart, Effie Minchew of South Bend, Karl Giles (Carla) of South Bend, Henry Fry (Angela) of Illinois, Roy Fry, Michael Fry (Tammy) and Peter Fry all of South Bend, and Andrew Fry (Genieva) of Niles, 28 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and her siblings, Jimmy Rock and Donald Rock (Trena) of South Bend.

Betty graduated from South Bend Central High School and was a 25 year member of New Life Center Church, which was her extended family. She enjoyed Bingo, thrift shopping, and talking on the phone. She truly did not know a stranger. The most important thing to Betty was her family who meant everything to her.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. noon Thursday, December 3, 2015, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., with Pastor Edward Veigh and Rev. Philip Ludwick officiating. Committal services and burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may visit with family in the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
