SOUTH BEND - Mr. Robert Louis Riley, age 62, who resided on Studebaker Street, South Bend, IN, passed away on April 25, 2012 at his residence. Robert was born August 4, 1949 in Memphis, TN to the union of George Washington Riley and Callie (Bentley) Riley, who both preceded him in death, along with a son, Lester Riley; two sisters, Carrie McKinney and Annie Mae Jones; three brothers, Charles Jones, William and George Riley; and a nephew, James Riley.

He graduated from South Bend Central High School and worked many years as a welder for Great Dang Motors in Memphis. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army after serving two years in Vietnam.

His passion was cooking, working on cars, gardening and ritually working out everyday to remain in shape doing push-ups, sit-ups and riding his bike.

Survivors include four daughters, Shannae and Jeannene Riley both of Cherry Valley, AR, Shantaye Riley Warren of Hageburg, AR, and Sonya Riley of Whitehall, AR; 8 grandchildren, Leslie Meredith, Journey & Tayeshaun Warren, Caitlin & Millinea Riley, Torrence Townsend, Torrington Warren and Daryana Willis; three sisters, Lucille, Lottie M. and Jeanette Riley; his special friend, Shirley Ross; his ex-wife, Etta Jean Riley; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Alfords Mortuary with calling hours between 2:30 p.m. & 3:00 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted with Alford's Mortuary, where messages of condolences may be e-mailed to Alfordsmortuary@att.net c/o: The Riley family.
