CLAYPOOL - Donn Richard Pierce, 74, (Palestine Lake), passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2010, after a brief illness.

Donn attended Central High School and South Bend College of Commerce.

He was born on October 25, 1935, in South Bend, to the late Donald Adam and Elsie (Fozo) Pierce. He served in the Korean War and after many years retired from Carborundum/ Unifrax. He was a member of the Gold Wing Club Chapter F of Warsaw, American Legion Post 49 of Warsaw, DAV Post 19 of Elkhart, Moose and Eagles of Warsaw, and Legion Riders of Kosciusko County. His lifelong love of fishing and gardening gave him great enjoyment.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jeanne (Ward) Pierce; children, Cyndi (Deb Davis) Pierce of Wakarusa, IN, Debby (Troy) Winnestaffer of Millersport, OH, Gregory Scott (Maurilia) Pierce II of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Amber, Adam (Amber) of Ohio, Mayra, Scotty, Leanne of TN; great-grandchildren, Savannah and Conner of Ohio; brother, Gary Pierce of Minneapolis, MN; nieces, Sara (Allen Holzheimer) Pierce of Minneapolis, MN, Abby Pierce of Indianapolis, IN; and great-nephew Pierce of MN.

We remember a man who loved and was loved deeply and dearly by his family and friends. He will be immeasurably missed.
