MARY L. PERRY

Mary Perry May 29, 1932 - Oct. 7, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Mary Louise Perry, 82, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, October 7, 2014. Mary was born May 29, 1932, in South Bend, IN, to the union of the late Lucy V. Perry and Chester J. Perry.

Mary was born and raised on the East Side of South Bend and attended Perley Elementary School and Central High School.

She was a beautiful, loving person with a kind and gentle heart. Mary loved to socialize; and was an avid fan of Al Green who she was so excited to meet when she went to his concert here in South Bend at Morris Civic. She also enjoyed dining out at her favorite restaurant, Red Lobster, with her daughter. Mary especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary confessed her faith in Christ at an early age and maintained her trust in the Lord throughout her lifetime.

She was in a long companionship with William Warfield up until his death.

Mary was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 35 years. Mary leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, special daughter and caregiver, Patricia Perry of South Bend, Indiana, Joanne Jones of Battle Creek, Michigan; one son, Michael Paxton of Elkhart, Indiana; 3 grandchildren: Shalonda Williams, Maria Martinez and Brandon Jones; 10 great-grandchildren: Darnell Williams Jr., J Siah Williams, Damarion Williams, J Niyah Ford, Jaiden Ford, Ariana Davids, Alana Davids, Ryan Davids Jr., Tianna Anderson, Michael Anderson Jr.; special daughters: Twila Green, Elite Johnson, Patrice Ivory, and special son, Joseph Green; special sons-in-law: Duria Love and DeWayne Laster.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Lucy V. Perry; her father, Chester J. Perry; a daughter, Chiquita Love; companion, Joe Nelson; grandfather, Sandy Thomas; grandmother, Mozala Thomas; uncle, Tommy Thomas; aunt, Annabelle Thomas; and a granddaughter, Demtries Love Anderson.

Special Thanks to Dr. Maureen Ziboh, South Bend Clinic, Prompt Ambulance, and all other caregivers who provided her care.

Services for Mary Louise Perry will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014, at Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Sign her guestbook at www.clarkoneal.com.
