SALLY A. (LEATHERMAN) LAUVER

SOUTH BEND - Sally A. Lauver, 73, of Regency Place of South Bend, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2010, in the nursing home. Sally was born July 7, 1937, in Argos, Indiana, to the late Vern and Esther (VanDusen) Leatherman. Sally was employed with Easy Heat in New Carlisle for several years, Hooks Drugs for several years, sold Avon for many years and loved interacting with her customers. She later worked with Dr. Sweeney in South Bend and then moved to Indianapolis where she worked with Baker & Daniels Law Firm for 10 years, retiring in 2002.

On September 16, 1956, Sally married Jerold E. Lauver, who preceded her in death on April 14, 1976. Surviving are her children, Sherrie (David) Wilder of South Bend, Indiana, and Neil (Dorie) Lauver of Mill Creek, Indiana; grandchildren, Nick and Chrissy Wilder, Renee and Ashley Lauver. Sally sang in the Sweet Adelines, played the organ, loved to travel with her husband and children whom she was very proud of.

She received employee of the year from the Radison Plaza, graduated from South Bend Central High School in 1955, was fascinated with butterflies, and loved to arrange flowers.

Friends and family are welcome to visit from 4-8 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2010, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert Street, New Carlisle, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2010, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home. Burial will follow at New Carlisle Cemetery. (Please note, all times are South Bend time).
