DEWAYNE JONES

DeWayne Jones Nov. 20, 1948 - July 20, 2014 SOUTH BEND - DeWayne Jones, 65, of South Bend, Indiana, departed this life on Sunday, July 20, 2014, at 1:00 a.m. in Cardinal Nursing Home after an extended illness. He was born November 20, 1948, to the union of Anderson Jones Sr. and Wille Mae (Shirley) Martin in South Bend, Indiana.

He attended Central High School and after graduation he served in the United States Army for two years.

DeWayne was self-employed in the electrical field. He was also a current member of Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. DeWayne is survived by his mother, Willie M. Martin; four sisters: Gwendolyn Jones-Peebles, Denise C. Whiting, Brenda J. Martin-Groves and Terri L. Martin, all of South Bend, Indiana; six brothers: Winfred A. Martin of Indianapolis, Indiana, Keith A. (Eversteine) Martin of California, Arthur III (Olethea) Jones of South Bend, Anderson Jr. (Linda) Jones of Kansas City, Kansas, Dennis C. Jones of South Bend and Arcell R. Martin of Trotwood, Oregon.

He was preceded in death by his father, Anderson Jones Sr.; step-father, Arcell K. Martin; a brother, Charles Jones; two sisters: Claretha Huggins and Gwendolyn Martin.

Services for DeWayne Jones will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014, in Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 1620 S. St. Joseph Street, South Bend. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Sign her guestbook at www.clarkoneal.com.
