She was a graduate of South Bend Central High School. On March 28, 1980, she married Timothy E. Learman in Valdosta, Georgia. She and Tim were set to celebrate their 42nd anniversary later this month.

She is survived by husband Tim of Elkhart, their children, Christina (Richard) Willming and Callie Cole, both of Mishawaka, Christal (Blain) Trosper, Josh (Jennifer) Learman and Jason (Dana) Learman, all of Elkhart.  She is survived by 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and her siblings Mary Lane, Clarice Wharton, Ruth “Rose” (Brad) Krol and Angela Smith.  She was preceded in death by her infant children Joseph Wayne & Patrick James, her siblings Carl Smith, Charles Smith, Norma Adams and Diane Ball, as well as her granddaughter Tori Clinch.

Visitation will be held from 9-11 am on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola with services to follow at 11 am.  Dr. Michael A. Cramer of New Life Church will officiate the service and interment will follow in Olive Cemetery, Elkhart. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream of her service will begin at 10:45 am in the window below this obituary.

Pat was employed as the co-owner and treasurer of Learman Electronic Tools for many years until her retirement in 2010.  In her spare time, Pat enjoyed working in her yard, spending time on the river on her family’s pontoon boat and traveling by motorhome with her husband across the US and Canada. She and Tim enjoyed international travel as well and had visited Jerusalem in Israel twice.  Pat was also an avid reader and had read her Bible from Genesis to Revelation many times over.

Her faith in the Lord was strong and she lived out her faith through her actions and generosity to others.  Her compassion towards her family and friends led her to bring many to Christ.  She was a longtime member of New Life Church in Osceola where she enjoyed spending time with her Sunday school group, the Serving Seniors, hosting Bible study in her home and cuddling the newborn babies of the Church in the nursery.

In her memory, donations may be made to New Life Church.  To light a virtual candle, share a story of her life, or leave a message of comfort for her family, please follow the links provided on the tribute wall tab above.
