Veronica R. Pigee-Collins 'Ronnie,' was born on March 15, 1952, in Mounds City, Illinois. Leaving Mounds City at an early age moving to South Bend, Indiana with her mother, Clara L. Pigee, and stepfather, John L. Berry.

Ronnie attended Oliver Elementary, Central High School, and graduated from IV Tech College. With more than 50 years of work experience under her belt, she spent time working in a chicken processing plant; the Marriott Hotel, Faurecia Automotive, Frankie's BBQ. After many years of working she decided to team up with her son, Priest Pigee and his wife, Dannielle, and opened their own business, Boos Backyard BBQ.

Ronnie's immediate family includes her children: Decarlos Scott, Darmon Bond, Lavern) Priest Pigee (Danielle); her grandchildren: Darmon Bond Jr., Courtney Bond, Tapanga Whitmer, Diamond Orban, Brendan Johnson, Kendall Pigee, Jarod Pigee, Eamon Pigee, Mary Stogsdill, Jalen Pigee, Dayan Pigee, Jaden Pigee, Jada Pigee, Javier Pigee, Priest Pigee Jr., Jeremiah Pigee, Elijah Pigee, Aaliyah Pigee, Joesiah Pigee, Kendall Pigee, (Sienna Pigee) Avry Plonka. Siblings: Carletus Scott, Willie Pigee, Issac (Debra) Pigee, Steven Pigee, Thelbert Scott, Barbra Ellis, Willa Jones, Stephanie Pigee, Leona Page, Glenda Buchanan, and Marilyn Maher. Goddaughter, Connie Mayfield. Special and lifetime friends: Curtis Hardy, Jesse West.
