SOUTH BEND - Charles Clayton "Chuck" Bradley Jr., 80, of Zebulon, NC, passed away at Wake Med, Raleigh, NC, on October 10, 2011. Charles was born in Folsomville, IN, on September 17, 1931, to the late Charles Clayton Bradley Sr. and Genevieve Madden Williams. He was raised by his mother and her husband, John E. "Jack" Williams.

Charles graduated from South Bend Central High School, South Bend, IN. He served his country in the United States Air Force and went on to get a BS in mechanical engineering from Purdue and an MBA from Indiana University. He worked in hospital engineering and retired in 1996 from St. Mary's Hospital in Athens, GA.

He will be remembered fondly as the "Clark Griswald" of family vacations, dragging his family across the country in the family station wagon.

A service to celebrate his life will be Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at 6:00 PM at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545, with the family visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 PM prior to the service.

Surviving: Wife of 58 years: Gertrude "Trudy" Wallace Bradley; Children, Bridget Bradley Kipfer (Max) of Zebulon, NC, Tod Bradley (Penny) of Cary, NC, Megan Bradley of Indianapolis, IN; Grandchildren, Adrienne Mojzik, Alexandra Mojzik, Michael Bradley, John Bradley, Clayton Tipton, Riley Tipton and Patrick Tipton.
