MARY (PILSITZ) BALMER

SOUTH BEND - Dearly Loved Mother and Aunt, Mary Ann Balmer, 96, passed away at 6:45 am Tuesday, January 12, 2010 in Darden Place, South Bend. Mary Ann was born November 13, 1913, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to Michael and Mary (Egresitz) Pilsitz.

She graduated from South Bend Central High School in 1932 and retired from the accounting department at the Bendix Corporation, having previously worked as a telephone operator at Indiana Bell.

Mary is survived by, and will be greatly missed by, her son, Alden Balmer; two grandchildren, Alden Balmer and Kimberly Larson; three great-grandchildren, Alysse Balmer, Haidyn Larson and Adali Larson; and special nieces, Chris Reilly, Patricia Bottorff, and Janet Kenney. She is also survived by sisters, Helen Finlay and Rosie Smith.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Katherine Weist, Julia Pilsitz, and Ann Beery; and brother, Michael Pilsitz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 16, 2010 in Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 N. Ironwood Road, South Bend, where friends may visit the family one hour prior to the mass at church. Memorial contributions may be offered to Darden Place, in memory of Mary Ann Balmer, 20907 Darden Road, South Bend, IN 46628.
