LARRY BRODNAX

Larry Brodnax May 25, 1943 - Sept. 16, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Larry Brodnax was born on May 25, 1943 to the union of Murphy and Marion Brodnax, in South Bend, Indiana. On Tuesday, September 16, 2014, Larry was called home to be with his Heavenly Father at the age of 71 years old.

Larry attended Central High School in South Bend, Indiana and later joined the U.S. Army from which he retired.

He then relocated to Chicago, Illinois where he was an independent cab and truck driver for many years. After his relocation to Chicago, he met and married his sweetheart, Verlyn "Vee" Brodnax. From their union, two children were born: L Quette "Quette" and Robert "Robbie" Brodnax.

Larry loved to fish, cook and hunt. When Larry would cook the simplest meal, you would think he was preparing a meal for an army from the big mess he made in the kitchen. Larry loved to have fun with friends and family. Whenever he would be missing for a couple of days, everyone knew where to find himon LAKE STREET, his favorite hangout.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories, his daughters: Kimberly Jo. Brodnax-Winters, Lisa Smith, L Quette Brodnax, and Corty Balderos; two sons: Anthony "Tony" Mack and Robert Brodnax; five siblings: Alan Brodnax, Lynise "Lynn" (Jerry) Johnson, and Penny Smith; along with a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and Gary Brodnax, who took care of him through his illness and made sure all his needs were met.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Murphy and Marion Brodnax; a sister, Carolyn Betts; and grandmother, Frances "Big Momma" Smith.

Services for Larry Brodnax will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2014 in Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend.
