Elva J Davis

Elva J Davis, 88 years old, passed away at home on Thursday, September 15, 2022. Her husband Ron Davis and Hospice nurse were with her and her two daughters Rebecca Kilbourn and Robin Marshall arrived soon after. The house soon filled up with 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Elva and Ron were married for 50 years.

She was born on February 4, 1934 in Harden County Kentucky, moving to South Bend with her sister Addie Buck, brother Wilber Berry, and parents Kathryn L and Edward Lamar Schmitt shortly after World War II.

She graduated from Central High School. Elva spent most of her life in the South Bend area and was active with her husband in the Moose. She was a dedicated golfer at Knollwood and Erskine Park. She loved being with all the kids. Elva fought hard against lung cancer.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a date to be announced. Condolences may be made at www.sjfh.net.
