FRANK HORVATH

SOUTH BEND - Frank Horvath, 78, of South Bend, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2007, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in South Bend on September 10, 1928, to Michael & Veronica (Hollos) Horvath who preceded him in death. Frank married Agnes Marie Wesesku in Chicago on September 10, 1949 and she preceded him in death on March 27, 1988.

Frank is survived by four daughters, Janet (Charles) Henkel of South Bend, Peggy A. (Steve) Webber of South Bend, Kathleen "Kathy" Horvath of Corte Madera, CA, and Frances M. Horvath of South Bend; a son, Frank M. (Rebecca) Horvath of Las Vegas; two grandsons, Adam R. Webber of Leesburg, FL and Evan A. Horvath of South Bend. Frank was the youngest of ten children. He is also survived by two sisters, Helen Gostola of Mishawaka and Rose Siebrecht of South Bend. Also survived by his beloved companion Ellie Jankowski of South Bend.

He graduated from South Bend Central High School in 1946.

He retired from Torrington and the South Bend Water Works. He served as a South Bend City Councilman from 1972 to 1980. He was a member of the Calvert Rod & Gun Club, the St. Joe Club, and the William Penn Association. Frank enjoyed playing Hungarian gypsy music especially the violin, euchre, mushroom hunting, Hungarian food, traveling and spending time with his family. His family would like to extend a special thank-you to Hospice Nurse Tina and all the staff, and Acoustical Audio Service for helping his quality of life. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday August 19, and one hour prior to services on Monday in Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St. The Calvert Rod and Gun Club will hold a memorial service at 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Monday with Rev. Ken Fetter officiating. Entombment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made St. Joseph County Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend, IN 46637.
