Ernest Barney Niemier - Class Of 1937 VIEW PROFILE

Ernest B. Niemier Sr.

Ernest B. Niemier Sr., 63, of 1924 N. Johnson, Wed late Monday in the Marion (Ind.). Veterans Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a plumber for 40 years with the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union. Born on July 17, 1916, in South Bend, he lived here all his life.

On Jan. 30, 1942, In South Bend, he married Annis Smith, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Carolyn) Krol of South Bend; a son, Ernest Jr. of Mishawaka; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Horvath and Mrs. Geraldine Czeck, both of South Bend, and two brothers, Lucien of South Bend, and Bernard of Malibu, Calif.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Friday in St. Stanislaus. Catholic Church, of which he was a member. Rev. Stephen Sedlock. C.S.C.. pii.4or, will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

He was a member of Moose Lodge 58, Elks Lodge 235, and PNA 83. He was a World War II Navy veteran.
