Lee W. Sibley Sept. 25, 1940 - April 29, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Lee W. Sibley passed peacefully in the company of his loving wife of 50 years and his three daughters at Miller's Merry Manor in New Carlisle, Indiana, on Tuesday, April 29, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn (Mattingly) Sibley; daughters, Hope Sibley Vollmer (Johnny) of South Bend, Jennifer Sibley Foti (John) of Bridgman, MI, and Lisa Sibley Benko (Andy) of Dubuque, IA; and granddaughters, Sarah and Lindsay Benko. Lee was born in South Bend, IN, on September 25th, 1940, to William and Helen Sibley.

He graduated from South Bend Central High School and served proudly in the U.S. Navy as a radio operator aboard the USS Donner. During his years in the service he travelled the world and gathered stories to share with his family.

In 1963, he married his wife, Marilyn Mattingly. Together they raised their three daughters. He worked for the Bendix Corporation for 38 years and studied at IUSB. Lee was a true gentleman and he was gifted with a quick, dry sense of humor, a love of nature, family and for his Green Bay Packers.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Parsons Sibley in 1967, and his mother, Helen Gish Dunn in 1995.

There will be a memorial service at Clay Church, located at 52866 Ironwood Rd. in South Bend, on Wednesday, May 14th, at 11:00 A.M. Friends may call one hour prior to the memorial service. Lee will be laid to rest following the service at Highland Cemetery in South Bend. Contributions in memory of Lee W.
