MISHAWAKA - Harry E. Miller, 85, of Mishawaka, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. Harry was born August 13, 1925 in South Bend to the late Clarence and Clara (Point) Miller. He was also preceded in death by a sister Virginia E. Freeman, and a brother, Clarence E. Miller Jr.

On June 7, 1947 in South Bend, Harry married Loretta (Strychalski), his loving wife of 58 years, who passed away September 11, 2005.

Harry is survived by his nephews, George (Terri) Freeman of South Bend, and Bob (Judy) Miller of Marcellus, MI; nieces, Jan (DeWayne) Roach of Mishawaka and Marylou (Ray) McEntyre of Kentucky; sister-in-law, Hildegard Turner; brother-in-laws, Ray and Ted Strychalski, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Harry retired from RACO, where he worked as a die-setter.

Harry was an Ex-POW in the Army during World War II.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church Woodland, American Ex-Prisoners of War (Indiana Dunes Chapter), American Legion Post #303, VFW, and a graduate of South Bend Central High School.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Friends may visit with the family two hours prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. In Harry's memory, contributions may be made to American Ex-Prisoners of War, Indiana Dunes Chapter, 1207 S. Woodland Ave. #219, Michigan City, IN 46360.
