Stephen J. Gorbitz, age 86 of, South Bend, Indiana, died on June 25, 2013 at Healthwin after a 2 month illness.
Stephen was born on January 3, 1927 to Michael and Lena (Giczi) Gorbitz. He is survived by his wife, Anne (Molnar) Gorbitz.
Stephen leaves behind three children, Denise M Gorbitz of South Bend, Michael J Gorbitz, of Chicago, IL and Patric Gorbitz, of Aspen, CO (Heidi), four grandchildren, Alison, Nicholas, Cheyenne and Logan and two great-grandchildren, Katelynn and Kalli.
Steve graduated from South Bend Central High School and served in the US Navy. He worked at Studebaker, Bendix, Krizman, and the University of Notre Dame.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m., Monday, July 1, 2013, in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Notre Dame.
