Betty Louise Farner Meyer

SOUTH BEND - Former South Bend resident Betty Louise Meyer, 88, of Zionsville, IN died January 28, 2018 in Zionsville Meadows following a lengthy illness. Betty was born March 27, 1929, in Garrett, Indiana to the late Helen L. (Swartout) and Daniel R. Farner and lived in South Bend most of her life. On January 30, 1960 as Betty L. Farner, she married William H. Meyer, Jr. who preceded her in death in 2009. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, James and Robert Farner. She is survived by her children, Thomas William Meyer (Nancy) of South Bend, Douglas Robert Meyer (Sally) of Zionsville, and Jeffrey Farner Meyer (Joy) of Sarasota, FL; seven grandchildren, Morgan, Aubrey, Lauren, Mitchell, Kyle, Katie, and Eric; and two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Zoey.

Betty received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Indiana University, Bloomington. While in South Bend she was active in various tennis leagues, Junior League, and Camp Millhouse.
