Shirley P. Proud Leible

Shirley P. Leible, 64, Columbus, were to be at 1 p.m. today at Welsheimer Funeral Home, South Bend. Burial was to be in Hamilton Grove Cemetery in New Carlisle. She died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1992, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Born June 25, 1928, in Clarksville, Iowa, she was a graduate of Indiana University, the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and Oshkosh Technical Institute.

She had worked as a substitute teacher at Oshkosh High School and Oshkosh West in Oshkosh. 
She was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority, the Indiana Historical Society and Daughters of the American Revolution.

She also was former president of the Winnebago County Historical and Archeological Society in Wisconsin, as well as Winnebagoland regional director of the Wisconsin State Genealogical Society.

She married Arthur Bray Leible on Feb. 7, 1948, in South Bend.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, James E. Leible, of Lawrence, and Maj. Arthur P. Leible, serving in the U.S. Army; two daughters, Karin Willoughby, Columbia, S.C., and Gwendolyn Klingenberg, Lawrence; a brother, Lowell Proud, South Bend; a sister, Frances Saunders, Brook Park, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
