Dewey Charles Layton, 87, of East Wayne Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 1:10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, in Hospice House, South Bend.
Dewey was an engineer who retired from the Bendix Corporation.
He was born July 22, 1916, in South Bend, to the late Dewey Clark and Olive (Blake) Layton, and lived in this area all of his life.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Burial will follow at City Cemetery, South Bend.
Dewey attended Purdue University for two years and then received a BA in business administration from the University of Notre Dame. He was an avid car and boat enthusiast.
