HOWARD EUGENE WOLF

March 4, 1924 - March 7, 2009

SOUTH BEND - Howard Eugene Wolf, 85, of South Bend, passed away Saturday morning in Hospice House. He was born March 4, 1924, in South Bend, to the late Oliver and Grace (Merrill) Wolf. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Donald Wolf.

On March 26, 1949, in South Bend, he married Edith Baldwin, who he met at the Palace Theatre.
She died in 2005.

Left to cherish his many memories are his daughters, Kathleen Wolf and Diana Payne of South Bend; two grandchildren, Amanda Kurzhal (Matt) and Jessica Payne of South Bend; and three great-grandchildren, Megan, Nathan and Owen Kurzhal.

Howard graduated from South Bend Central High School, began work with Koontz Wagner and retired after 471/2 years as a supervisor. Howard had a great work ethic and was known for his honesty and reliability. He said that anything worth doing was worth doing well. He was " Mr. Fix-It All." He loved to fish and the outdoors.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 10th, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Pastor Chuck Husted of Gospel Center will officiate and burial will be at Chapel Hill
Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care or to Gospel Center. E-mail condolences may be made to welshfh@yahoo.com .
