"Former Restaurant Owner, Williwm Metros, Dies at 68"

South Bend - Willium G. Metros, former co-owner of the Loft Restaurant, died at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the home of s friend on Carroll Street after an illness. He was 68.
Mr. Metros, of West Marion Street, was born July 6, 1924, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Metros is survived by a brother, Spiro, of Mishawaka; and aunt, Athena Callas, with whom he made his home, and a friend, Bonnie Moore of South Bend. He was a member of AHEPA and St. Andrews Greek Orthodox Church, a graduate of the former Central High School and the University of Notre Dame. He was a veteran of WW II.
A brother, Daniel Metros, was fatally shot during an apparent robbery of the restaurant on November 25, 1980, while Daniel was taking out the night deposit.
Private services will be Friday in the church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., where a trisagion service will be at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contribution may be made to the church or Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
