SOUTH BEND - Sylvia E. Moyer, 86, of South Bend, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2010, in Providence House. Sylvia was born February 5, 1924, in Auburn, IN, to the late Dewey and Helen (Bahr) Edwards.

On June 13, 1948, Sylvia Edwards married Rodney Moyer, who passed away February 16, 1989. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Fick in 2002, and a sister, Dorothy Stringer. Sylvia is survived by a daughter, Gail Heckathorn of Walkerton, IN; five grandchildren, Tracy Mace, Chad Heckathorn, Jason Heckathorn, Rodney Fick and Jennifer Mossell; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Sylvia had worked as a secretary, and was a former member of Sunnyside Presbyterian Church and Christian Center Church.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 23rd, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, with Rev. James Campbell officiating. Entombment will follow at Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, Granger. Friends may visit with the family 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22nd, in the funeral home.
