JOHN SCHUTZ

SOUTH BEND - John Jacob Schutz died Monday, May 28, 2007, in Emory Eastside Hospital in Snellville, GA. Mr. Schutz currently lived in Lilburn, GA.

A longtime resident of South Bend, he was retired from the South Bend Community School Corporation, where he had been a history teacher at John Adams High School until he retired in 1987.

He was born in Evansville, IN, on November 18, 1927. A graduate of South Bend Central High School, he served in the Navy and then graduated from Ball State University and got his Masters from the University of Notre Dame.

On January 26, 1952, he married Janis LaVonne Fridh. A widower, Mr. Schutz is survived by his daughter, Susan Albert; and grandchildren, Matthew and Lauren Albert, all of Lawrenceville, GA. Surviving siblings include Bettye Boyd, Charles Schutz and Barbara Kuhny.

His body was cremated and there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
