Willie J Hubbard - Class Of 1963

 

Willie J. Hubbard, Sr., 73, affectionately known as “Boo”, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. Boo was born on September 23, 1945 in Sardis, Mississippi to Claudia Mae Ellis and Robert Lee Hubbard, Sr.

Boo attended Central High School and was employed as a floor operator for Allied Stamping Division, retiring after many years of faithful service. Boo was a fun-loving father, grandfather, brother, cousin, nephew and friend. His favorite hobbies included cooking, fishing, hunting and helping his neighborhood friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Boo leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Margaret Hubbard of South Bend; three sons: Carl (Dana) Hubbard, Willie J. Hubbard, Jr. and Cody A. Hubbard, all of South Bend; two daughters, Angela Hubbard of South Bend and Carla (Junie) Hubbard of Indianapolis, IN; as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and aunts. He is also survived by two brothers, Chester (Gloria) Ellis and Glenn (Connie) Ellis, both of South Bend; two sisters, Teria (Ronnie) Jones and Lisa (Maurice) Johnson; as well as twelve brothers and sisters in Sardis, Mississippi.  He was preceded in death by his parents; son Anthony Hubbard; two grandsons, Brian Howard and Malik Perry; four sisters: Kathy Ellis, Verna Battease, Gretchen Ellis and Carmen Ellis.

A public visitation will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Palmer Funeral Home - West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend, IN 46628 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Online expressions of sympathy may be left at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.

Willie was a resident of Indiana at the time of passing.
