Dale Harris Meadimber

October 22, 1945 ~ February 6, 2020 (age 74)

Dale H. Meadimber, age 74, residing in South Bend, Indiana passed away at 12:45 pm on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Center for Hospice, South Bend, surrounded by family.  

Dale served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from the United States Post Office after serving many years as a letter carrier. 

He was born on October 22. 1945 to the late George H. and Mildred I. (Harris) Meadimber in South Bend, Indiana and was a lifelong resident.

On November 15, 1980 he married Deborah Meadimber in South Bend.  She preceded him in death on March 26, 2001.  Along with his parents and his wife, he is preceded in death by his brother George D. Meadimber.

Dale is survived by his son, Nathan “Nate” T. (Heather) Meadimber of South Bend; his two greatest treasures; grandsons Carson and Kolton Meadimber of South Bend. He is also survived by nephews Tom (Kim) Meadimber and Tim Meadimber. 

Dale was a member of the Maennerchor Club and the VFW post 1954. He enjoyed his retirement going fishing, splitting wood, bonfires, boat rides, the daily crosswords, woodworking, and money hunting.

Dale was a loving and caring father, grandfather, uncle and one truly amazing friend.  We are very lucky to have so many wonderful memories of him that will forever live in our hearts.

Dale, thou we will miss you, may we cherish and celebrate you with each memory we have. 

Memorial Services with military honors will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Palmer Funeral Home – River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend.  Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the funeral home.
