Marilyn Patricia Nave

March 17, 1935 - June 29, 2018

NEWPORT, TN - Marilyn Patricia (Pat) Nave, 83, of Newport, TN, entered the presence of Jesus Christ on June 29, 2018. She was born to James LeRoy Scott and Neva (Steele) Scott on March 17, 1935 in South Bend, IN. She was a 1953 graduate of South Bend Central High School and worked for Studebaker Corporation for a short time until she found her true calling as a Mom in 1955. She married Roy Daniel Nave on October 30, 1954, who preceded her in glory in 2015 after 61 years of marriage. Pat placed her faith in Jesus Christ in 1957 and lived as a woman of God. She was a gifted pianist and used that gift to serve her Savior and the church. She was a longtime member of New Life Baptist Church (Osceola, IN) until moving to Tennessee in 2015 and becoming part of Northport Baptist Church in Newport. She loved her pastors and church families. She was loved and respected by people in Indiana, Tennessee, and in Texas, where she and Roy wintered for 17 seasons. For the last three years of her life, she lived at Wellington Manor of Newport, TN, where she received wonderful care. Mrs. Nave is survived by her son, Daniel and daughter-in-law, Cheryl (whom she adored) of Newport, TN; granddaughters, Andrea (Dave) Johnson of Grand Rapids, MI and Sara (Jon) Fisher of Schertz, TX; grandson, Matthew (Carrie) Nave of Howard City, MI; sister, Mary Lou (Kenny) Myers of Niles, MI; sister-in-law, Nikkie Mae (Chuck) Buck of Mishawaka, IN; and eight great-grandchildren she loved intensely.

The Naves will receive guests at New Life Church, Osceola, IN on Sat., July 29, 2018 at 10 am. A Memorial Service of Celebration will follow at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, the Nave family kindly requests that gifts be made to New Life Baptist Church of Osceola or to Southeast Church Extension, 167 Pine Hollow Way, Newport, TN 37821.
