SOUTH BEND -- Leon Anthony Michalski, 58, of South Bend, passed away on Thursday, June 14, at 1:25 a.m. in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

He was born on October 3, 1948, in South Bend, to Anthony O. and Lucille (Pietraszewski) Michalski.

Leon was preceded in death by his father; and his sister, Lorraine Michalski

Surviving Leon are his mother, Lucille; his sister, Arlene Michalski of South Bend; a brother, David of New Carlisle; nephew, David Michalski of Chicago; and a close friend, Frank Banicki.

Leon was a member of St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Catholic Church and The Teamster Local #364.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 17, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 South Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, June 18, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Catholic Church, 415 N. Brookfield St., South Bend, IN 46628.
