Linda Louise Burns March 3, 1947 - Sept. 3, 2015 OSCEOLA - Linda Louise Burns, 68, of Cookeville, Tennessee, passed away on September 3, 2015. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on November 21, 2015, at Osceola United Methodist Church, with Pastor Robert Vale officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Linda was born in South Bend, Indiana, on March 3, 1947. She attended Central High School. She married Michael Burns on September 9, 1967. Linda worked most of her life as a factory worker. She had a love for the Chicago Cubs and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. She also enjoyed playing cards with her many friends and family. Linda was a very kind and loving person, never meeting a stranger. She was willing to help anyone who needed a place to stay, a bite to eat, or just a shoulder to cry on. Linda is survived by her daughters, Michele (Daphne) Shelton and Cheryl (Steve) Corder; Special Granddaughter, Sarah (Melanie) VanHimbergen; Sisters, JoAnn Forizs and Kathy Holycross-Wing; Brothers-in-law, Danny (Sandy), Larry (Meredith) and David (Jean) Burns; and many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael Burns; parents, Marshall and Nina Holycross; parents-in-law, Art and Helen Burns; brothers, Marshall, Harrison and Raymond Holycross; brothers-in-law, John Forizs and Derrell Wing; sisters-in-law, Flora, and Kay Holycross. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to MS Foundation or The American Heart Association . The family of Linda Burns wishes to thank Bethesda Nursing Home and Avalon Hospice.
