SOUTH BEND - Paul A. "PK" Krempetz, 69, died Thursday morning in his home.
He was born in Cook County, IL, to the late Gene M. and Atoinette (Latowski) Krempetz. In 1963 he married Jane Ewart, who died in 1967. In 1968 he married Elizabeth Steel of Niles.
He is survived by a daughter, Dawn Faulkner (George) of Etna Green; two sons, Larry Krempetz of South Bend and Danny Krempetz (Scarlet) of Niles; six grandchildren; his sister, Barbara Posega (Paul) of Rockford, IL; and brother, James F. Krempetz (Pam) of Buchanan; and his loving companion, Charlene McClane of Niles.
Paul graduated from South Bend Central High School in 1960, and in October of that year he enlisted in the USMC and served with honor until his discharge. After service to his country, he was sworn in November 1966 on the South Bend Police Department where he served for 32 years. Paul was a former member of the Buchanan Moose Lodge #599 and the F.O.P. and the River Conservation Club in Buchanan.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2011 in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Military honors will follow services. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 p.m. until time of services.
