Joycelynn K. Newland, 78, residing in South Bend, Indiana passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Morningview Assisted Living in South Bend.

She was born on June 19, 1942 in South Bend, Indiana to Clifford Heckman and Vera Heckman, who both preceded her in death.

Over the years, Joycelynn worked at Kroger, as a bank clerk at American Trust, and as a bookkeeper for her husband who owned an auto parts store, which she loved doing.

She belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star.

On November 2, 1964, Joycelynn was united in marriage to Robert J. Newland, who preceded her in death on January 13, 1995.

She is survived by her daughter, Celynn (Jeff) Fearnow of South Bend; her sons, Tim Newland of South Bend, Joshua Newland of Mishawaka, and Cory (Ashleigh) Newland of South Bend; and one grandchild, Sadie.

Joycelynn was preceded in death by her brothers, Dennis Heckman and Ronald Heckman.

Funeral services for Joycelynn will be at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, IN 46615. Friends may call at 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. before the service. Palmer Funeral Home-River Park Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
