Mead, David A, 68, retired AT&T/NCR software engineer, died May 27, 2009.
His BA degree in biology from Kalamazoo College and his MS in computer science from K-State provided the foundation for his career and interest in nature and wildlife. He enjoyed several trips with the Sedgwick County Zoo to Africa, Galapagos Islands and the Amazon. He was an accomplished amateur painter and had a life long interest in the structure and vocabulary of many languages. He was a long time member of golf and bowling leagues.
He is survived by his sister Sally Schneider, sister and brother-in-law Betsy and Jim Pifer, nieces Betsy, Anne and Rachel Schneider and Kathy Spease and nephew Andy Pifer and eight grand nieces and nephews.
