Central 1957 Patricia (Cunningham) Haefner

SOUTH BEND - Patricia Suzan Haefner, 78, of South Bend, Indiana, was called home to Jesus Christ on Monday, September 19, 2016. Patricia was born on April 27, 1938, in La Porte, Indiana, to Daniel and Agnes (Fisher) Cunningham.

Patricia was united in marriage to Donn R. Haefner, who survives, on July 6, 1958. God blessed them with a happy marriage that lasted over 58 years. Surviving with her husband, Donn, are their beloved children, Lori (John) Kersey of South Bend, Indiana; and, Kenneth R. Haefner of South Bend, Indiana; grandchildren, Julianne Taylor and Jacob Kersey; and brothers, James (Erlinda) Cunningham of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Donald (Kay) Cunningham of Elletsville, Indiana, and Clifford Cunningham of Owings, Maryland.

Patricia was a proud graduate of the South Bend Central High School in 1957. God gave Patricia a compassionate, servant's heart and she used her gifts to constantly serve her family, friends, and neighbors around her. She made friends with everyone she met, always had a positive outlook on life, and would help anyone in any way that she possibly could. Patricia served as a volunteer at St. Joseph Medical Center and Memorial Hospital and retired from the South Bend Community School Corporation as a Baker. She attended Trinity Evangelical Free Church and always talked about the importance of prayer and faith to her family.

While her family and friends will miss her terribly, we rejoice in the knowledge that she is without pain and at peace in Heaven with our Lord and Savior and look forward to seeing her again.

A private service and burial has taken place.
