James E. Levy, 30, of 215 SeeBirt, died at 10 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Hospital after a year's illness. He was employed by O.J. Shoemaker, Inc. He was born on Jan. 11, 1947, in Harriston, Miss., and came here in 1950 from Harriston.

Surviving are a son, Christopher of South Bend; two sisters, Miss Claudette and Miss Rita Levy, both of South Bend; six brothers, Howard and Alfred, both of South Bend, Alvin with the Air Force in Sacramento, Carl with the Navy in Jacksonville, Fla., Harold with the Navy at Great Lakes Naval Base, Great Lakes, Ill., and Frank Jr. of Hillcrest Heights, Md., and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank S. Levy Sr. of South Bend.

Levy was a member of Local 172, Plumbers & Pipefitters Union and a trustee of the
church. He had served in the Navy.
