Adare Fritz

Nov. 4, 1946 - May 29, 2018

SOUTH BEND - Adare Fritz, 71, of Mishawaka died Tuesday, May 29 in Tanglewood Trace Assisted Living following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Fritz was born November 4, 1946 in South Bend to the late Barbara Jeanne (Muffley) and Arden E. Fritz, and lived most of his life in the South Bend area. He is survived by his children, Jessica C. Fritz of South Bend and Brian P. Fritz (Amy) of Amherst, OH; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Denise Sherman (Ray) of South Bend and Dierdre; and five brothers, Michael Fritz (Cookie) and Jerome Fritz both of Mishawaka, Terry Fritz (Judy) of Niles, MI, and Craig Fritz and Joel Fritz both of South Bend. His former wife, Barbara Fritz, still resides in South Bend.

Our father began working at A.M. General on May 8, 1968 as an assembly line worker and worked his way up to Sr. Vice President of Operations. He retired on Oct. 1, 2001. We always looked up to him with honor and respect, knowing what he had to go through to get where he was in life. He worked very hard to have the life he wanted, not just for himself, but for us kids. On the days dad did have a break from work, he had many hobbies, too many to mention; but a few were landscaping, fitness, and bicycling. Dad's favorite song was by Dionne Warwick, “A House is not a Home”, which seemed to always put him at ease and in a good mood. I (Jessica) have always considered my daddy to be my best friend and made sure he and everyone knew that. It was an honor and privilege to be able to take care of my daddy and even in the last of his days. He knew he was loved and that he could leave this life behind knowing those closest to him would be okay. I haven't met one person who would speak negatively about our father. People were blessed to be a part of his life because he was blessed to be a part of theirs. I carry you in my heart daddy and I love you!

Memorial Services with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 7 in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., South Bend. Cremation will take place with inurnment to follow in Riverview Cemetery. Welsheimer Family funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Family and friends may leave email condolences at www.welsheimer.com.
