Nancy Sue (Morrical) Riegle

Nancy Sue Riegle, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2023, in Elkhart, Indiana. Born on August 3, 1935, in South Bend, Indiana, Nancy was a cherished member of her family and community throughout her 87 years.

Nancy is survived by her devoted children, Suanne (Ron) Smith of Elkhart, Kathy Riegle of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Kurtis Riegle of Decatur, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Kenneth Riegle, and her husband, Robert Riegle in July 2013. Nancy's memory will also be carried on by her six grandchildren, Ben Riegle of Lafayette, Molly Jarrard of Plymouth, Michigan, Justin (Brittany) Smith of Mishawaka, Taylor Riegle, Nathan Riegle, both of Chatham, Illinois, Hannah Riegle of Cleveland, Ohio and four great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride.

She was the sister of the late Patricia (Faye, Jr.) Durbin, J. Thomas (Jean) Morrical, Robert Morrical, and David Morrical.

Nancy's professional life was marked by her dedication and expertise in the field of information technology. She worked for Indianapolis newspapers for 23 years, retiring in 1999. Her colleagues remember her as a skilled and diligent worker, always willing to lend a hand or share her knowledge with others.

As a master gardener, Nancy's love for nature and the outdoors was evident in her beautifully maintained gardens and her enthusiasm for sharing her knowledge with others. She took great pride in her ability to cultivate a wide variety of plants and flowers, and her gardens were a testament to her skill and dedication. Nancy's green thumb extended beyond her own backyard, as she was often sought out by friends, family, and neighbors for gardening advice and assistance.

Nancy Riegle will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her memory will live on through the love, wisdom, and beauty she shared with the world.

A Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Hubbard Hill, 28070 Co Rd 24, Elkhart, IN 46517 with visitation one hour prior to services. Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice, 1626 E Day Rd, Mishawaka, IN 46545 and Hubbard Hill. Palmer Funeral Homes – River Park Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
