Robert Stanley Wolf

Robert Stanley Wolf

January 23, 1948 ~ April 27, 2024

Robert Stanley “Bob” Wolf, age 76, of Vonore, Tennessee, passed away at home on April 27, 2024.

Bob was born in South Bend, IN on January 23, 1948 to the late Marian A. (Harris) and John C. Wolf. On May 20, 1972 he married Patricia A “Patti” Pecze, and they were blessed to love each other for 52 years. Bob and Patti have two sons, Charles A. Wolf (Amanda) of Granger, IN and Joseph W. Wolf (Amy) of Independence, KY.  Bob was so proud of his grandchildren, Ryan Wolf (Peyton), Caitlyn Wolf, Addyson Wolf, Liam Wolf, Hailey Wolf, and Haven Christman “Wolf”.  Bob also leaves a sister, Connie Osterlund, of Elkhart, IN, a brother, Donald Wolf, an aunt Cindy Wolf, of South Bend, IN and brother-in-law and sister-in-law William and Lynne Pecze, of Loudon, TN.  As “Uncle Bob”, he was also loved by nieces Jackie Wolf Lenfestey, Sarah Carmean, Alicia Redinger, Holly Yotter, Krista Fleckenstein, Jill Monforte, Mindy Garcia, and nephews James Wolf, Danny Wolf, and Alan Pecze.

Bob was a devout Catholic who attended St. Pius X Catholic Church of Granger, Indiana for over 40 years and later after moving to Tennessee, St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church.

Bob graduated from South Bend Central High School in 1966. Shortly after graduation he joined the United States Army and served in Vietnam as a helicopter crew chief. After serving his country he returned to Indiana and worked for Martin’s Supermarkets as Manager in several of their stores. He changed employment paths and began a career first working for The Associates and later Citi Financial as the Manager of the credit card division and statement processing. He later transitioned into the position of Citi’s Facility Manager and retired in 2007.

Bob’s passion was fresh water fishing. What was supposed to be a “once in a life time trip” to the Boundary Waters turned into over 35 yearly trips with his fishing buddies, Bob Witt, Jim Madden, Keith Merrifield, and Rick Garnitz. For over 25 years, Bob got great satisfaction volunteering for “Christmas in April” later renamed “Rebuilding Together”.

Bob and Patti enjoyed many vacations with family, friends and neighbors. They camped with their sons and neighbors in Southern Indiana. Spent summer cottage vacations with their sons and Bob’s parents. They cruised the Caribbean, lost a little money in Vegas, and saw the Grand Canyon with friends. They also enjoyed Nashville, Memphis, Georgetown, Louisville, Lexington, Savanah, Charleston, and Ashville with siblings. For over 24 years, however, they loved winter vacations at Breezy Palms in Islamorada, FL. There, they made memories with dear friends Mike and Portia Gregor, along with 20 other couples from across the United States and Great Britain.

Bob was known for his generosity, his handy man skills, and his loving nature. He was a loyal fan of Notre Dame, the Chicago Bears, the Chicago Cubs and the New York Yankees. Most likely, whenever you saw Bob, he was always wearing navy blue polos and khaki pants (his standard attire). So as a gesture to his memory, please wear the navy blue polos and khaki pants (if you so desire), instead of suits and ties, when you attend his funeral.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am – 11:00 am at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 N Fir RD, Granger, IN 46530 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on May 6, 2024.  Military graveside honors and burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, 2257 Portage Ave, South Bend, IN 46613.

Special gratitude to Stephen Myers, MD of Thompson Oncology, Maikel Botros, MD of Blount Radiation Oncology, Blount Memorial Hospice and Bob’s niece Jackie Lenfestey for their thoughtful and gracious care. Donations in Bob’s memory may be offered to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
