Paul H. West

Paul H. West, 61, of 57247 McQuade, died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday in his home after an unexpected illness. A self-employed civil engineer, he was born Sept. 17, 1922, in South Bend and lived here all his life.

On April 13, 1957, in South Bend, he married Joan C. Borden who survives. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Wilkins of South Bend; three brothers, Wilbur and Leo West, both of South Bend, and James West of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will he at 1 p m. Monday in Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Forbes, for of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today and from noon until the time of services Monday at the funeral home.

West was a member of First United Methodist Church, the American Society of Civil Engineers and the University of Notre Dame Alumni Association. lie was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and an Army veteran of World War II. Memorial contributions may be made to Berea College in Berea, KY.
