Martha J. Gottron, 81, of Louise Lane, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 9:20 am. Saturday Aug. 2, in the Community Hospital of Bremen, Ind., after an extended illness. Mrs. Gottron was born on Nov. 14, 1921. in South Bend. On Nov. 30, 1963, in South Bend, as Martha J. Weaver, she married Daniel F. Gottron, who preceded her in death on April 8, 2001.

Mrs. Gottron was a homemaker and active in the Eastern Star. She and Dan were cared for and looked after by a very warm, caring neighbor, Debbie Notestine and her husband. Mrs. Gottron wishes were to be cremated and buried with her loving husband at Porter-Rae Cemetery in North Liberty, Ind. Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be conducted by the Lakeville Eastern Star on Sept 10 at 6 p.m. in Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road / Indiana 23, South Bend. Friends may visit with relatives from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10. The memorial service will begin at 6 p.m. Burial will be Thursday at Porter-Rae Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to charity of donors choice. The family of Martha would like to thank the nursing home staff, Community Hospital of Bremen, the doctors and friends who cared for her during her extended illness.
