ROGER W. HUFF

March 16, 1922 - May 10, 2008
SOUTH BEND - Roger W. Huff, DDS, 86, of South Bend, IN, passed away on Saturday, May 10th, in Hospice House, South Bend. He was born on March 16, 1922, in Bremen, IN, to the late Eva (Shearer) and Mason Huff.

On November 21, 1943, in South Bend, he married Nancy Adele Willits, who preceded him in death on September 19, 1998. Dr. Huff was also preceded in death by a brother, Rex Huff.

Surviving Dr. Huff are three nieces, Cynthia Huff of Savannah, GA, Shelly Wood of Houston, TX, and Elizabeth Wright of St. Louis, MO. Dr. Huff retired in 1993 after practicing dentistry for 47 years.

He played basketball as a guard at Central High School under Coach John Wooden.

He was a graduate of the Indiana University School of Dentistry and was a U.S. Army and Navy veteran, serving in Japan during the Korean War. Dr. Huff was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church, South Bend, South Bend Elks Lodge # 235, and was a former member of the Morris Park Country Club, South Bend.

Memorial services for Dr. Huff will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 24, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place in the Welsheimer Crematory, with entombment at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1836 Portage Ave., South Bend, IN 46616; or to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
