PRIEST RIVER, IDAHO: Memorial service for Richard J. "RJ" Hosinski, 79, will be today at 11 a.m. at St. Cathenne's Roman Catholic Church in Priest River. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hosinskl, a 15-year resident of Priest River, died Monday. He was born in South Bend, Ind., where he attended South Bend Central High School and graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1944. 

Mr. Hosinski was a first lieutenant in the armed services and was a P-38 "Lightning" pilot in the 49th Fighter Group, 7th Fighter Squadron, in the Philippine Theater during World War II. He received several commendations. 

After the war he continued as a captain in the reserves and went on to own and operate businesses in South Bend and San Juan Capistrano, Calif. Mr. Hosinski was past president of the Rotary Club in San Juan Capistrano. While in South Bend, he coached the first women's fencing team at the University of Notre Dame and St. Mary's College. He was a Roman Catholic.

Survivors include his daughter, Mary Christine Hosinski of Seattle; a son. Luke Hosinski of San Juan Capistrano: and two grandchildren.
