WILLIAM P. VANCE

William P. Vance Sept. 13, 1913 - Aug. 29, 2014 NOBLESVILLE - William P. Vance, residing in Noblesville, IN, formerly of Bremen, IN, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2014. Mr. Vance was born on September 13, 1913, in Washington, IN, to the late Warren and Mattie (Dunnigan) Vance.

On August 12, 1945, he married Helen (Conrad) Vance, who preceded him in death in 2011. Also preceding him in death were seven brothers and five sisters: Earl, Ralph, Russell, Emmett, Frank, John, Ezra, Alma, Edna, Mary, Helen and Betty.

He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Vance of Glendale Heights, IL; and sons, Warren (Cindy) Vance of Goshen, IN, and Wayne (Debra) Vance of Westfield, IN. Also surviving are 4 granddaughters, Laura (Tyler) Liu, Beth (John) Fearncombe, Katie (Greg) Sjoberg and Stacy (Derek) Hammerstein; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Vance graduated from Central High School in South Bend, IN.

Bill served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked for 45 years for the Torrington Corp., retiring in January 1979, but his first love was farming.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 3rd, at the Lakeville United Methodist Church, 610 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville. Rev. Brian White, pastor, will officiate. Graveside service will follow at the Bremen Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2nd, at Lakeville United Methodist Church, and one hour prior to the services Wednesday. Palmer Funeral Home, Lakeville, is assisting with funeral arrangements. Contributions in memory of William P. Vance may be donated to the Lakeville United Methodist Church.
