Irma Ilo (Heminger) Whitehead

June 8, 1905 - June 10, 1991

SOUTH BEND — Irma Heminger Whitehead, 86, of Regency Place. died at 5:30p.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Whitehead was a retired home economics teacher. She was born June 8, 1905, in South Rend, but spent most of her life in California. moving back here four years ago from Modesto, Calif. In 1942, in San Diego. as Irma Heminger, she married Amine Whitehead. He died in 1987.

She is survived by four sisters. Rowena Crump and Mildred Steinhoffer, both of South Bend. Phyllis McGehe of Fredricksburg. Texas, and Dons Roberts of Elkhart. and a brother. Howard Heminger of Sebring, Fla.

She was a graduate of Ball State University, and was a member of Ball State Alumni Association, First United Methodist Church. Modesto. and California State Home Economics Association. Memonal services will be conducted at a later date. Cremation will take place. with burial at Highland Cemetery. There will be no visitation. GuisInger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Brethren Church, 4001 N Main St., Mishawaka 46545.
