JEANETTE MAE (ALLISON) MOREHOUSE

 March 24, 1920 - March 16, 2007
 

NILES - Jeanette M. Morehouse, 86, formerly of Niles and Buchanan, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Friday March 16, in Tuscany Hospice House in Summerfield, Florida from complications of surgery. Jeanette was born March 24, 1920, in South Bend, the daughter of Harry G. and Hazel Allison who preceded her in death.

She was a 1938 graduate of Central High School.

On April 19, 1941, in South Bend, as Jeanette Allison, she married Alan A. Morehouse, who preceded her in death in 2001 after 60 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Joyce.

Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Don) Hand of The Villages, FL, with whom she resided; a son, Alan Robert (Betty) Morehouse of Kalamazoo; three sisters, Audrey Morehouse of Niles, Delores Glaske of Three Oaks, and Sue Barella of Edwardsburg; two brothers, Loren C Allison and Harry G Allison, both of South Bend; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Jeanette retired from AT&T, South Bend, in 1978, after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.

Contributions may be made to Tuscany Hospice House, 17395 SE 109th Terr. Rd., Summerfield, FL 34491. There will be no services or visitation in Florida. A memorial service will be held in Niles at a later date.
