Theresa Kathryn (Fritz) Malling

SOUTH BEND - Theresa Kathryn Malling, 96, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 2, 2014 in the West Bend Nursing Facility. Theresa was born October 13, 1917 in South Bend to the late Harry and Rose (Papai) Fritz.

Theresa is also preceded in death by two brothers, Leo and Harry Fritz; a sister, Roselle Fairchild; and a granddaughter, Brigitte Malling.

Survivors of Theresa include her sons, Lance Malling of South Bend, and Karl Malling of Seattle, WA; sisters, Bernie Hardig of Schererville, IN, and Mary Ellen McCarthy of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Erik (Karen), Merit and Walker Malling; and great-grandchildren, Kasha and Riley Malling.

Theresa was a parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing in her earlier years, working around the house and out in her yard. Theresa was a very proud and independent lady.

She had been married to Alfred Joseph Malling (1910-1999) but were divorced.
