CASIMIR E. WISNIEWSKI

MISHAWAKA - Casimir “Casey” E. Wisniewski, 96, passed away Monday, July 4, 2016, in Waterford at Edison Lakes Assisted Living.

Casey was born January 31, 1920, in South Bend, to the late Stanley and Helen (Witucki) Wisniewski. On October 3, 1942, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, Casey married Gertrude (Rutkowski) Wisniewski, who preceded him in death on April 8, 2010. Casey was also preceded in death by a son, Paul J. Wisniewski; granddaughter, Beth Ann Bailey; sister, Lorraine P. Drzewiecki; and brothers, Clem and Adolph Wisniewski.

Survivors of Casey include his children, Kenneth G. (Rose) Wisniewski of Gresham, OR, Diane M. (Dennis) Bailey of Sun City West, AZ, Elaine A. (Danny) Johnson of Plymouth, IN; 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Norbert Wisniewski of Granger, IN.

Casey honorably served his country in the United States Army. He worked at Studebaker's and then at Torrington, retiring in 1983. Casey was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church, member of Harvest House and the Golden Clusters. He was a member of the American Legion Post #357, and the Torrington Retirees Group. Casey was an avid reader, card player, and enjoyed the outdoors. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife, Gertrude.

The family would like to extend a thank you to all of Casey's caregivers at The Waterford at Edison Lakes and Hospice Foundation for their exceptional care and attention.

Visitation for Casey will be 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm Friday, July 8, 2016, in ST. ADALBERT CATHOLIC CHURCH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Friday in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Hospice Foundation, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
