John H. (Jack) Trittinger

John H. (Jack) Trittinger, 62, of West Fargo, N.D., formerly of South Bend, died at noon Sunday at his home following an illness of several months. He was a former manager of Ault's Camera Shop and had been a professional photographer with DeGroff's Studios here. He was born May 27, 1920, in South Bend and lived in the South Bend area most of his life until moving to North Dakota in 1964.

On June 30, 1961, in Minnesota he married Letta Waldeck, who survives along with a daughter, Kristi Christianson of Fargo; two sons, John George Trittinger of Fargo and Lt. Eric Nelson with the U.S. Navy in San Francisco; and three grandchildren.

Memorial services will be conducted Friday at Hanson Runsvold Funeral Chapel in Fargo and burial will follow. He was a captain with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member Shilo Lodge 1 F&AM, El Zagal Shrine Temple, St. Joseph Lodge 45 F&AM of South Bend, the Eagles and Elks Lodges both of Fargo, Sons of Norway, Murat Temple of Indianapolis, American Legion Post 50, of South Bend, and DAV Post 1 of Fargo. He was a state executive office for the Supreme Council Order of Demolay. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Red River Valley, Fargo, N.D.

John , (Jack) Henry Trittinger's parents, (Anton Trittinger and Nettie Mumaw) divorced when Jack became 5 years old. Jack grew up and became married to Velina Weaver and they had a son that they named, John George Trittinger Jr. John George Trittinger Jr., was born in South Bend Indiana, December 3, 1945 and died August 19, 1990. John spent his remaining years in Fargo North Dakota.

John H. (Jack) Trittinger was a favorite grandchild to Henry and Cora Mumaw. Jack purchased a candy dish for his grandparents. This dish is still part of the family keepsakes.
